Organisations and behaviour Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Organisations and behaviour - Assignment Example The production efficiency methodology explains the method that breaks every action or small tasks into very simpler forms which can be evaluated easily and can be taught. The four principles of the theory are: 1) maximize individual skill and minimize job learning period, 2) design work, matching it to the workers, 3) monitor the performance of the worker and ensure that they are using the right method of working, 4) replace the thumb rule and in that place use the scientific method of work study (Sapru, 2013). Hawk Car Company initially adopted the Taylor method which brought them a lot of problems which are follows: The theory gave importance to productivity and profitability as a result there aroused exploitation of employees in the company. Taylor emphasized on the functional foremanship which says that one employee has to report to a number of managers and thus it loosens the unity of command which can create chaos and confusion in the organization. The employees at Hawk Car com pany suffered from the same problem The method elaborated by Taylor is mechanical in nature and it laid emphasis on efficiency of the work generated. He failed to take in to account the human element and considered workers as robots. Thus, Hawk Car Company assembly managers failed to understand the difficulties that are faced by the employees but concentrated on the efficiency of the work produced by the workers. ... This explains that the person who is at the top of the pyramid is the person to whom every person in the organization has to report (Nelson and Campbell, 2008). In case of Hawk Car Company, it used a hierarchical organizational structure where the workers on assembly line have no authority to give any suggestion to the design and running of the production line. The chain of command of the production department was such that the effectiveness of operation rested on how the people performed at each level and how they report to their assembly line managers. The scope of biasness may arise and the managers who are not open to feedback from employees create further communication gaps. As a result the workers in the Hawk Car Company lost interest in their work and were highly dissatisfied. The number of absenteeism increased as a result the production was affected. The hierarchical organizational structure can create too much distance between the leaders of the organization and the employe es. When there is too much authority in one hand, power dominates. As a result the employees feel low to work efficiently in the organization as their work is not valued by the management. The employees at the Hawk Car Company faced the same situation. The decision making process in this structure is directed from the top level as a result the employees have little say about the work they are assigned. They are not given the opportunity to express their own idea and process of doing a work. As a result they became less involved with the work they are doing. The employees of Hawk Car Company had no right to make any changes to the work process even if it is needed. Working in an assembly line is very difficult for the employees as it

Should abortion be legal Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words
Should abortion be legal - Essay Example We do not have the right to kill a fetus in the womb, no one can do it. It is a sin and will always remain so. The unborn child hardly has options; it was not the child who was asking to be born, when they do not have a choice why should the parents have the choice of aborting them? From religious perspective also abortion is a very big sin because an embryo is completely helpless and killing someone helpless is a very big sin and should never be done. There are several health risks for women which are involved when it comes to aborting a child. Making it legal will encourage more and more women to undergo it and may end up taking away several lives which surely no one would want. Doctors are very well respected because their duty is to save as many lives as plausible but people will stop respecting them when they start killing helpless embryos in the womb. They would continue to be respected should they keep saving lives, which is also their duty. A woman who chooses to abort her unborn baby goes through a lot of mental trauma, many more women would go through the same should abortion be made legal. The world has changed drastically over the past few years; the culture across the globe has drastically changed. There are far too many abortions taking place these days when compared to the previous years. Abortion is mainly chosen by women who choose to avoid becoming pregnant and most of such women are unmarried women. Undergoing abortion is a very difficult step to take for any woman and it takes a lot of guts to take the decision. Abortion according to many is a very big sin, killing the unborn is an unmerciful act. The irresponsible people in the society, without thinking about the circumstances put themselves in a situation which is extremely undesirable. ASSIGNMENT 4 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
ASSIGNMENT 4 - Essay Example The region above 75 miles of height is considered as highland. As kerala receives plenty of sunlight, it belongs to the hot climatic zone of the earth. Because of the nearness to sea most of the places have a humid condition. But some places in the eastern part of the state experiences moderate hot and cold weather conditions. The temperature will be low in thise places which are more than 1000m altitude. Therefore, these area are suitable for the cultivation of garden crops like cardamom, coffee and tea. The midland of kerala is a chain of hills and fields in between. The rain water which falls on hills is stored in the fields. A part of this forms the ground water. The remaining flows as streamlets. Kerala is one of the most loved tropical paradises, which boasts some of the richest biodiversity in the world. The climate here is more humid wetter. This part contains wet green forest and most complex and species rich vegetation. The rivers on Kerala have their origin in the ranges o f western Ghats , these rivers quickly drain to the Lakshwadweep sea. Owing to this, the rivers which are flooded during the rainy season become more channels with a lean flow of water during the rainy season. Only a small portion of water form the rainfall is stored in the soil. The major portion of water reaches the sea abruptly. Biodiversity4 The Western Ghats also known as the Sahyadri hills is a mountain chain , different types of vegetation : scrub jungles and grasslands at low altitudes, dry and moist deciduous forests, grasslands and shoals, and the precious tropical evergreen and semi evergreen forests. Complex topography, high rainfall and relative inaccessibility have helped the region retain its biodiversity. Of the 15,000 flowering plant species in India, there are an estimated 4,780 species in the Western Ghats region. There is also a great diversity of traditional crop plants and an equal diversity of animal life. A large number of amphibians, freshwater fishes and in vertebrate groups are endemic to Western Ghats . Man-Made causes for degradation of Environment in Kerala Deforestation DEFORESTATION has many ecological, social and economic consequences, one of which is the loss of biological diversity .The destruction of territory is the most effective form of removal of any particular form of life from the face of earth. Menon and Bava2 have estimated the rate of deforestation in the Western Ghats to be .057% annually during the Period 1920 -1990.The food chain depends on depends upon the vegetation. Forests are an integral part of the vegetation. A vast area of forest has been cut dawn in the name of industrialization And rapid urbanization. Moreover the rural mass depends on the wood from the forest to keep their kitchen fires alive. The recent unstable rain fall in the area is the result of the loss of forest cover. The reduction of annual rain fall in the area is also another observed disaster the region now faces. Large scale deforestation in to Western Ghats and introduction of plantation crops in the high land replacing the natural vegetation reduced the storage capacity of soil and resulted in surface soil erosion in watersheds and sedimentation in rivers. This has affected summer flow in river s and some perennial rivers and rivulets have become seasonal in the last few decades due to large scale land cover changes. Electronic Commerce - Essay Example Moreover, new sales and distribution channels may appear for Franke thanks to E-commerce. EC can reduce the cycle time to produce Frankeââ¬â¢s washroom products. It can also enhance productivity and lessen the time needed to present the products into the market. The supply chain management of Franke will be effective with minimal delays. Moreover, the company can decrease the inventory and so can lower the cost for the inventory. The costs for administrative tasks and sometimes intermediaries in the supply chain are also reduced. The organizationââ¬â¢s supply chain may be simplified in which the size of the supply chain is reduced. Franke can work more closely with its smaller group of suppliers in a focused supply chain evolved from applying E-commerce. ââ¬Å"Tight coupling is a method for ensuring that suppliers precisely deliver the ordered parts, at a specific time and particular location.â⬠(Laudon, 2007) It will enhance Frankeââ¬â¢s logistical activities which are very important for the company to provide the right products with right quantities to the right locations at the right time. In addition to supply chain improvements, the supply chain management system of the organization can also be upgraded. Linguistic Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Linguistic - Assignment Example Work and family are both important so that does as well. Choong-hoon spoke the most. His co-worker Jun-gil also spoke a lot. This might be because Choong-hoon is the oldest male there. Although everyone made fun of Jun-gil for only speaking to Choong-hoon, he did actually talk a lot as well. This is probably because he is a guest who does not know everybody else, so they wanted to know more about him and also help him to relax. People were all polite to Jun-gil, who was not a member of the group before. So they asked him polite questions about his family and job. Between most of the other people the discussion style was a lot more filled with jokes as people were more familiar with each other. Even when this is the case the polite conversation markers like oh-bba were sometimes used. Interestingly they sometimes seemed to be used to just make the jokes not be taken personally. For instance when I told Choong-hoon to mind his own business. Disagreement or interruption usually goes along with the gender of people. For instance when Hye-jung did not speak clearly, it was another girl who said something about it first. Choong-hoon then did say he thought so too, but he did not say so straight away. Also when Jun-gil is talking about whether he was working during his wifes labor, Jun-ho, another male, is the one who interrupts him. A lot of the special Korean words like oh-bba would have to be explained. More importantly the reasons for these words would probably not make sense to people outside of the Korean language speakers group. Because in Korean there are different ways of speaking to people depending on how well you know them and whether they are older or more worthy of being respected than you, it might be confusing for people who do not speak
